calling all shoes

I received an email from a friend of mine who wrote,

i noticed this about your footwear experiments:

13 females
6 males
2 unknown

I suppose that partly says something about your network of friends. Or

maybe your network of familiarity, or maybe your network
of generosity?

Or maybe...

In any case, worth a note.
Definitely worth a note.
I'm actually hyper-aware of the unequal representation of genders in my wearing of shoes, and it's something that makes me cringe. I don't want to refuse anyone who offers me their shoes for a day (or 2 or 17...) and interestingly it seems to be mostly girls / women who have done so. I don't know if it is that I know more girls than boys...it's possible, but I haven't done any formal calculations. Regardless, if you have shoes, I would like to wear them (that is, if you would like me to wear them, or are even the slightest bit willing to let me wear them) and if you don't identify as a woman, than I would especially appreciate your help in this endeavor. And if you do, I would still appreciate your help.
So, although I began wearing other peoples' shoes as part of a course that is now over, I would like to still continue putting myself in other people's shoes and adding to this blog. It won't likely happen every day as it has for the past little while, but perhaps every week or month. It really depends on the willingness of others.
Yesterday was the first time that I wore my own shoes in about three weeks. I intend to write about that (and about Thursday's and Friday's shoes). I somehow feel the need to apologize for my inconsistency over the past few days--I just met an insurmountable wall of exhaustion on Thursday that prevented me from doing very much. This wall is hopefully subsiding into something more manageable. I think that sleep helps bunches.
So yes, more shoes, please!

I read on Blog Guelph that there are in fact more women than men in our age group in Guelph, according to the 2006 census. So maybe your friends represent an accurate cross-section of Guelph...
